USA Hockey National Championships
USA Hockey will be hosting it's youth National Championships for both boys and girls from April 7-11, 2010. MYHockey is on it again this season, giving you the rankings of the teams that will be in the tournament. Well, almost. With the expansion of the boys tournament to include 188 Tier 2 teams (up from 48), MYHockey is admittedly behind. Also, we've never done the girls side before, but will be working that as well. In all, we are trying to identify 332 teams that will be playing 8 sites across the country.
All Boys Tier 1 teams have qualified and have now been identified. MYHockey has created "divisions" for each of the four different Tier 1 National tournaments. The four divisions are listed here:
The other 284 teams, broken down into 24 different brackets, remain "less complete". MYHockey continues to work on identifying all 284 teams for the other divisions, but as of Monday, March 22, 2010, this is work in progress. Here are the links for the Boys Tier 2 divisions:
As stated above, we are also tracking the Girls National Championships. This year, for the first time, USA Hockey has introduced Tier 1 and Tier 2 divisions for Girls Hockey. As with all new things, there have been some learning pains as to what teams are playing at what level. Nonetheless, MYHockey continues to move teams to their proper levels and is working at identifying all the teams that have qualified for Nationals. Here are the links to these divisions as they stand today:
You are encouraged to send MYHockey an email if you have confirmed information on additional qualified teams. Additionally, you would be helping everyone if you entered any missing game scores for these teams into MYHockey using the online guest entry capability found on the Report Scores page. MYHockey will be making trying to update all National bound teams before the rankings update this week and next.
Note that some Tier 2 teams that have qualified for Nationals, have not "qualified" or been identified by MYHockey. Some teams are difficult to get added to MYHockey because their opponents are also not in MYHockey. We'll be working through these issues, but unfortunately there will be some limitations for some teams.
Best of luck to all participants.
